Opening on Sunday March 3, 4-7 pm Long Beach based artist Brittany Mojo will have an installation of ceramic works in the Pit’s zine shop. The large plinth occupying the central space of the shop will be populated by small to medium scale ceramic sculptures. Mojo’s conceptually driven practice centers on making art objects that resemble functional objects yet are not themselves utilitarian in nature. For her installation at The Pit, she has created a number of new sculptures which mimic bottles and pots. The works will be presented on and around a series of organic shaped carved wooden pedestals.
